HTC Windows Phone 8X and Nokia Lumia 920 are currently the top two WP8 smartphones released this year. Both the handsets are powerful, beautiful and are built for different audience. HTC 8X is a thinner and slick device where as Lumia 920 is bit thicker and wider device. Below is the brief comparison of the features of both the handsets which can be helpful for the people who are bit confused on which one to buy.
HTC Windows 8X and Lumia 920 are running on the latest Windows Phone 8 Os from the Microsoft. WP8 is the second generation of the WP Os as the apps running on the WP 7. X are not compatible with the WP8 and vice versa. Major advantages of WP8 Os is it supports multicore Cpu’s, high resolution displays, microSD support, security components, NFC capability where you can transfer the data not only with a WP device but even with a Windows 8 desktop or tablet.
As the WP8 supports multitasking, both the devices are powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon dual core 1.5Ghz processors. Which means more or less they perform with same speed. Integrated with 1GB RAM which would be sufficient to open multiple apps at a time. Both the handsets has Adreno 225 as the GPU. Windows Phone 8X has 16GB in-built memory and Lumia 920 has the double i.e, 32GB internal storage. Both the handsets doesn’t have the microSD card slot for memory expansion.
The 8X has a 4.3 inch Super LCD2 touchscreen with 720 x 1280 pixel resolution where as Lumia 920 has a bit longer screen size of 4.7 inch TFT LCD type display with 1280 x 768 pixel resolution which makes it a wider phone compared to the HTC 8X. Display’s of both the devices are protected from Gorilla Glass for scratch and damage resistance.
Both the handsets feature an 8MP rear camera with 1080p video recording. HTC 8X has a single LED flash with touch focus where as the Lumia 920 has a dula led flash with auto focus. Nokia’s PureView technology is used in Lumia 920 camera which gives an extra edge over anyother smartphone.
HTC 8X has a 2.1MP front facing camera and Lumia 920 has a 1.3MP camera at the front for video chatting.
HTC 8X has comparatively a lower capacity battery of 1800mAH than Lumia 920 which has a 2000mAH battery. The 8X supports beats audio which can be an advantage compared to the Lumia 920 which has no exclusive technology in the Music section. Both the devices are integrated with GPS for navigation, supports NFC, Bluetooth v3.1, USB 2.0, 3G & 2G and Wifi in the connectivity section.
Looking at the above mentioned specs and features one can decide wisely which one to go. For me both the handsets looks almost the same but somewhere Nokia Lumia 920 wins the comparision, be it in looks or in the camera.

Nokia seems to have forgot the Indian market. After the launch of its two Lumia Windows Phone devices 800 and 710 there are no special news on its other windows phone launch in India. Nokia Lumia 900 and Lumia 610 are the two windows phone devices which are yet to be released. Reports on Internet say that due to the high demand of Lumia 900 in the US market (launched in April)Nokia has delayed its lumia 900 launch in the other regions. Till today, Lumia 900 is available in US, UK, Canada and Singapore.
Nokia is one of the favorite brand among most of the Indian customers due to its good customer support and user friendly devices. But if it keeps neglecting the Indian market due to whatsoever reason it may loose its stance in the market as many other brands are releasing their smartphones day in and day out inline with the other international markets.
Here is the news from onlygizmos.com which claims the Nokia Lumia 900 release in the first half of June in India for Rs 28000. Nokia is already training its support staff with the device for better marketing.
Many of the cell phone reviewers on the internet have praised the Lumia 900 on its looks, features and specifications. This phone was announced in Jan 2012 and has already won the best SmartPhone award before it was released. India’s version of Lumia 900 will be having 4G support or not is yet to be confirmed.
