Exactly one month after the launch of Intel’s first Medfield based Lava Xolo X900 smartphone by Lava now Lenovo has announced its latest smartphone Lenovo Lephone K800 which is again based on the same Intel Medfield soc. Lephone K800 is powered by 1.6GHz Intel atom processor running on Android 2.3.7 ginger bread version. Still its not sure whether the Os on this phone is upgradable to the ICS. K800 also packs the Intel’s Hyper Threading technology for fast switching between applications, as well as Intel’s XMM 6260 platform that can offer support for HSPA+ 21Mbs on 3G networks.

– Now the app just looks like a player app with some extra buttons. Extra buttons includes a red button and two sets of ‘<>‘ buttons. The first set is used to trim the start point and the second set is used for trimming the end point of the edited song. More explanation on this in next step. The red button is the trigger/halt to cut the song.
– Click the play button to play the song. And when your best part starts playing just click the red button which starts to cut the song. Clicking the red button again will stop the cutting of the song.
– Clicking the Reset Cut button aborts the cut part and starts again for fresh edit, Play Cut plays the edited part of the song and Start cut saves the edited song.
– If you find that the edited song misses some part of your favorite music then this is where the two sets of ‘<>‘ arrow buttons are used to trim the edited part.
– Open the desired location (“/media/audio/”) in the file manager to find the song which can be copied/moved to another location in the memory and can be used as a ringtone, can be shared or deleted etc.

- 2G:

1990 was the era of GSM mobile phones (Global System for Mobile Communications), the Second Generation (2G). Technology includes the TDMA – Time Division Multiple Access along with the 1G’s FDMA. In 1991 the first GSM network opened in Finland. Each user gets a SIM card from the Operator which stores the subscriber identity and also provides the authentication to use the Mobile Service. The 2G phone systems uses the Digital Technology for communication. This means the transmission and reception of the signal is digital (bits), voice communications are digitally encrypted. It means greater privacy, efficient data transfer without noise and also less expensive devices. Similar to its predecessor 1G the devices works in Full Duplex mode. 2G isn’t the latest smartphone tech in other news, it’s slowly dying and getting replaced by 3G and 4G.

Due to the Digital technology 2G allowed Data Services (GPRS) and also introduced Short Messaging Service (SMS), Prepaid Service.
Many other features like EDGE (Enhanced Data Rates for GSM Evolution) or EGPRS (Enhanced GPRS), WAP – Wireless Application Protocol, MMS – Multimedia Messaging Service were introduced with the two revisions 2.5G & 2.75G.

This generation shares a major part in the global market till today. It means many cell phone users still use this technology.
