The 2013 flagship tablet from Samsung named as Galaxy Note 8.0 is officially released in United Kingdom for £339 last week. Initially the tablet can be purchased from the Samsung Experience Store in London later the device is expected to be available at other online retailers in UK.
Following the UK release the Korean giant also launched the Note 8.0 in the US market on April 11th for $400. In an official press release the company mentioned that the device will be available in stores and online retailers including Amazon, Best Buy/Best Buy Mobile, h.h. gregg, Newegg, P.C. Richard & Son, Staples and TigerDirect.com starting from the launch date.
Similarly there is also some news for Germany where the tablet is expected to land on April 19th at the local Media Mart stores. The store may sell both the variants of the Galaxy Note 8.0 – Wifi & 3G version. Price tag for the Wifi + 16GB variant would be around EURO 399 and 3G + Wifi + 16GB would be around EURO 499.
Currently there is no official information on the release date for Indian Market but sources say that the device will be released by this month end. Interestingly one of the online retail store ManiacStore.com has listed the Galaxy Note 8.0 on its website for Rs 25,800.
Coming on the specs side, the Galaxy Note 8.0 which was first unveiled in MWC 2013 comes with a 8 inch WXGA TFT capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels and 189 ppi. Beneath the screen lies 1.6GHz Cortex A9 quad core processor and a Mali 400 GPU from the Exynos 4 Chipset running on the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean Os. There is a 2GB RAM and 16 GB or 32GB on board storage expandable upto 64GB via Micro SD card slot.
The tablet comes with android’s default connectivity options like Wifi, Bluetooth, GPS, GLONASS, micro USB. Also the another variant includes 3G voice calling support from which the user can also browse the internet with 3G speed upto 21Mbps. User can take the advantage of the S Pen on this device. Also Samsung has already included this device in its android 5.0 Key Lime Pie update program for future.
Similar to Galaxy S4 the Note 8.0 also includes the unique software featureslike Multi Window, Air View, All Share Play, IR Blaster for TV remote, Smart Stay etc. All this is powered by a 4600mAh battery.
