HCL Me Y3 is the latest 7 inch android tablet from HCL Infosystems and the successor of its Me Y2tablet which was released in August last year.
ME Y3 comes with a dual-sim capability which can be used for both data service or voice calling purpose. This feature will give it an edge over the other tablets available in the market today.

On June 18th 2012 in Los Angeles, Microsoft unveiled its two new hardware devices named as SurfaceTM RT and SurfaceTM Pro running on the latest and beautiful metro tiles packed Windows 8 Operating System. The device has a dual identity, its a tablet as well as a computer.
SurfaceTM is a series name given to the Microsoft branded tablets. All the future MS tablets will be named under the Surface series. Microsoft designed and branded these tablets but the actual manufacturing is done by some other company.

As published earlier the Microsoft’s Windows 8 Os comes in three editions – Windows RT (or Windows Runtime) which is based on ARM architecture, Windows 8 Pro which is based on x86 Intel i5 chipset and Windows 8 Enterprise similar to Windows 8 Pro but with more reliability and targeted only for the serious business purpose.
Surface and Surface Pro tablets come with a Convertible Form Factor meaning the tablets can be used with or without physical Keyboard. The devices have an in built kick-stand for better viewing experience.
Between the two the Intel based Surface Pro is stronger as it is packed with some extra features like more memory, Full HD display, more battery power and more apps available in the market. This could be the replacement for all the models of Samsung Galaxy Tab.

Both the devices have a 10.6inch HD display with multitouch support (5-point digitizer). Infact the Surface Pro has a full HD display with 1080pixels where as the RT version comes with the 720pixel HD display. RT edition is lighter (676grams) and thinner (9.33mm), the Pro edition is little heavier (903grams) and thicker (13.5mm). Both the tablets have two cameras (front and rear) and come with a configurable memory models. Surface Pro comes with 64GB/128GB internal memory and Surface RT comes with 32GB/64GB of memory. Memory can be expanded using the microSD card slot on both the devices. It is said that the tablets doesn’t support LTE (4G Network) but this is yet to be confirmed.
Currently there is no details regarding the price or the availability. But looking at their features (and internet sources) the Surface RT and Surface Pro tablet can be priced anywhere between $450 – $600 and $600 – $700 respectively and will be released in three months from now.

New Price of BSNL Penta Tablet TPAD IS701R is Rs 3999

BSNL and Pantel Technologies have revised the price of one of their low cost tablet TPAD IS701R from Rs 3499 to Rs 3999 with BSNL connection and Rs 3250 to Rs 3749 without BSNL data plan.

“Till now, we have received more than 250,000 bookings. We have already started with the delivery process and lined up customers can expect the tablet to be delivered within two months. As far as the price is concerned, it is revised to Rs 3,999 with BSNL data plan and Rs 3,749 without BSNL connection respectively,” said Nishant Mishra, marketing head, Pantel Technologies.
The company also mentioned that the new price will be applicable only for the new customers. Customers who had booked the TPAD 701R earlier has to pay the old quoted price itself.

TPAD IS701R also popularly known as the ‘Rs 3200 BSNL tablet’ has a 7inch high quality resistive touchscreen of resolution 800 x 600 pixels. 701R is powered by 1GHz processor running on Android 2.3 Gingerbread version with the support of 256MB DDR2 RAM and 2GB of internal memory. The tablet has a microSD card slot expandable upto 32GB and a VGA camera. The battery of capacity 3000mAh can last upto 8hours.

Lava Mobiles to launch Tablet in August & two more Smartphones by September

Lava Mobiles one of the Indian Cell phone Manufacturing company has announced that it will be investing around Rs 55 Crores in its R & D department to develop Tablets and more Smartphones. Recently in the month of April the company has released the world’s first Intel processor powered Android Smartphone called as Lava Xolo X900 in India. With the success of Xolo X900 the company is keen to invest for producing more of this kind.
Indian market is rapidly growing in the Tablets segment. Many domestic cell phone manufacturers like Spice, Karbonn, MicroMax, Intex have lined up their low cost tablet pc’s in the market. And now even Lava Mobiles has also decided to invest in this segment to compete with these companies.

“This year we are investing close to Rs 55 crore…Next month, we will launch tablet PC in the price range of Rs 7,000-8,000,” Lava Co-founder and Director S N Rai said.

The tablet from Lava will be having a 7inch capacitive touchscreen powered by 1.2 Ghz processor, 4GB internal and 16GB external memory and will be released in August this year. Along with this tablet the company is also planning to launch its two Intel powered smartphones by September. In which one of the phone will be a high-end costing around Rs 35,000-40,000 while the other being a mid-end will be priced somewhere in the Rs 15,000 range.
