ZTE Grand X LTE (T82) Android ICS smartphone unveiled, releasing in Q3 2012

Chinese cell phone manufacturer ZTE has officially announced its first single-chip LTE enabled device ZTE Grand X LTE codenamed as T82.
“We are the first company to use the single-chip solution in a handset,” said He Shiyou, Executive Vice President, and Head of the Terminal Handset Division, ZTE. “The Grand series products are our high-end flagship offerings this year. ZTE aims to enhance its profile in the high-end market with the Grand series of smart terminals. The telecommunications sector is changing rapidly. LTE is growing very fast in Asia and ZTE emphasizes technological development in this area. We believe 4G communications provides a tremendous opportunity for the telecommunications industry in Asia.”

Grand X LTE is powered by a 1.5 GHz dual-core Qualcomm MSM8960 Snapdragon S4 “Krait” processor running on Android 4.0 Icecream sandwich platform. The device comes with an 8MP rear-facing camera supporting 1080p HD video, a front-facing camera supporting 720p HD video and a 1,900 mAh of battery capacity.

The device will be launched in Europe and Asian markets in the third quarter of this year. Price details are yet to be disclosed.
