Videocon A30 and Videocon A20 are the dual sim android smartphones released on December 26th in India by Videocon Mobiles. Both the Indian made mobile phones ship with decent features and fall in the budget smartphone category.

Before heading further let me first mention the price of both the handsets so that one can limit their expectations accordingly. Cost of Videocon A30 is around Rs 7500 and the cost of Videocon A20 is around Rs 5000.
Videocon A20 is powered by Android v2.3 (Ginger bread) Os which is a pretty old feature in today’s market. Videocon A30 comes with android v4.0 (Ice cream Sandwich) platform with which one gets the benefit of multitasking, nice UI, good browsing speed and more apps compared to the V A20.
Both the smartphones are running on Qualcomm’s 1GHz Scorpion processor which is again a pretty old processor in today’s Snapdragon technology. But the Videocon A30 has a dual core cpu which would help in performing fairly while playing high graphics games or using some rich apps. V A20 has a single core processor.
In the memory segment the V A30 has a 512MB RAM and 4GB ROM expandable upto 32GB using the microSD card slot. On the other hand the junior Videocon A20 has a 256MB RAM and 512MB ROM expandable upto 16GB capacity with the T Flash card slot (microSD).
Videocon A20 features 3.5inch HVGA capacitive touchscreen of resolution 320 x 480 Pixels where as Videocon A30 has slightly bigger display of size 4inch. The resolution of this WVGA capacitive touchscreen is 480 x 800 pixels. With such price tag one cannot expect Gorilla glass protection on these screens but a simple screen guard can be used as a scratch resistant.
Multimedia and Connectivity:
There is very little difference between the phones in this category. Both the smartphones support Wi-Fi, 3G, GPRS, EDGE, Bluetooth and micro USB. They are also integrated with Sensors like G sensor & Proximity Sensor which disables the touchscreen when the phone is brought near the ears during a call.
Both the handsets come with dual cameras. The front camera being VGA remains same on both where as a 5MP AF rear camera is featured on Videocon A30 and a 3MP on the videocon a20.
Battery capacity of Videocon A30 is 1500mAh and Videocon A20 is 1350mAh.
