Sony Inc. will be launching its SmartWatch across India at an approximate price of Rs 6,299 by this month end. Sony SmartWatch is a beautiful accessories for the Android 2.1 and higher Smartphones. It was first unveiled in the Consumer Electronics Show held in January 2012.
Smartwatch is equipped with a 1.3-inch Multi-touch color OLED display screen backed by Android software. It needs to be paired with an Android phone via Bluetooth to display the time, phone notifications, controlling music playback applications, getting live Twitter and Facebook updates plus access to other applications like email and calendar reminders, weather updates etc. This multifunction gadget comes with interchangeable color bands and can also be clipped on the clothes.
One of the major issue which was complained was that the device seemed to randomly disconnect from the paired device and it is believed that the company is yet to solve this issue. Apart from this some other limitations include the pairing with the phone is always required while using the smartwatch, its tiny display, less battery life are the other drawbacks.
