Sony Xperia Sola available in India by 18th May 2012

Sony Mobile Communications is set to launch its Android smartphone, Sony Xperia sola in India by 18 May 2012. Xperia sola is one of the beautiful smartphone from the Sony’s Xperia NXT series. Sola sports Sony’s unique and exciting technology called as Floating Touch. This technology lets the user to control the UI with just hovering the finger over the screen without even touching it.

Xperia Sola is powered by a 1GHz STE U8500 Dual Core processor running on Google™ Android™ 2.3 (Gingerbread) and it is upgradable to Android 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich planned in Quarter 2 2012. Phone also has 8GB of internal memory with 512MB of RAM and has microSD card slot for the extra expansion upto 32GB. 5MP rear camera but no front camera.
One more exciting feature of Xperia sola is the NFC support. With the NFC support, sola can be used with the Xperia SmartTags. Also recently MasterCard has certified Xperia sola as PayPass ready smartphone. Hence it can be used for contact-less payments in the paypass ready readers installed in the shops. But such shops are yet to debut in India.

Xperia Sola is expected to hit the Indian shores by 18 May, and it is available for pre-orders at Infibeam, Flipkart.
Price of Sony Xperia Sola will be around Rs 20K.
